How old do you believe you look? Find out with VizAge for Windows Phone

VizAge

Dare to find out how old you look?

We're rather familiar with Mendzapp on windows Phone. The small UK student start-up brought us both Travelnapp and YuleTile (charity focused Christmas app), which were both unique and interesting projects. We especially love seeing indie developers advance and create more immersive and better looking apps, which is exactly what these guys are doing. We met up with James from Mendzapp at the previous WPUG for a good ol' pint and a chatter about his current projects and what's next in the pipeline.

James recently got in touch with us about a new app called VizAge, which is basically an app that uses face recognition technology to calculate an estimation of one's age. It really is as humorous as it sounds. Whether you're on your own and wish to quickly see how old the system believes you to be, or you're out with friends and decide to see who looks older than their actual age, VizAge provides ample fun in such a small and simple app.

What’s your VizAge?

Combining the latest facial recognition technology and beautiful (yet original) metro design, VizAge is a fun app that let’s you take a picture of anyone’s face, from which it will attempt to guess their age. You can then share your result with friends or compare it with our database of over 300 famous faces from the world of Cinema, Music and Television.

You can expect beautiful, fluid animations and a unique design that is unlike any metro app currently available. VizAge also produces some surprisingly accurate age guesses, (courtesy of Face.com’s facial recognition API) and contains some fascinating insights into how old your favourite movie stars look – and how old they really are of course!

It’s a laugh and perfect for messing around with a group of friends or reminding your dad just how old he looks – we think so anyway!

Note: Although Face.com has been acquired by Facebook who are shutting down its API we have acquired an extension until October. During this time we will continue to add functionality to the app, whilst at the same time working to integrate alternative facial recognition technology so it stays awesome.  It seems a shame to waste all the work we’ve done and the more users we have the better! :)
