Game Review: Asphalt 7 Heat
Have fun boosting and drifting in this arcade racer.
Overall Score: 5/5
Fun gameplay, great graphics, and lengthy lasting value make this a worthy arcade racer at only $0.99!
Gameplay: 5/5
First of all, this isn’t a simulation racer. Just have fun, forget realism! Secondly, the game doesn’t get tough till halfway through… experienced video game racers will find the beginning extremely boring and easy. Once you get to the later levels, the game becomes more challenging and fun, and collecting as much boost as possible becomes a necessity (unless you want to buy your way to the top with nicer cars). The variety of levels and goals is excellent. There’s even a “paint job” level mode where you get points off for touching the walls, encouraging you to drive well. Asphalt is a fun arcade racer, that’s a fact!
Presentation: 5/5
I’m not sure if the iOS version looks better, but this is one of the best looking games we have on Windows Phone. The cars have reflections on them for the entire track, and the visuals in general look pretty great. The music fits perfectly.
Lasting Value: 5/5
You should be able to get 7 or more hours from the campaign mode. There is an online multiplayer mode, but the servers aren’t allowing you to create an account… but the campaign alone provides plenty of value!
